Chamomile Shampoo Bar for an Itchy, Flaky and Psoriasis-Prone Scalp

Chamomile Shampoo Bar for an Itchy, Flaky and Psoriasis-Prone Scalp

An itchy, flaky scalp is exhausting. It shows on your shoulders, it distracts you all day, and scratching only makes the redness and irritation worse. If your scalp is prone to psoriasis, you already know that most shampoos feel too harsh and leave your scalp tighter and more irritated than before.

Saaren Taika Chamomile Shampoo Bar is developed for exactly this kind of scalp. It cleanses gently and is dermatologically tested to soothe itching, reduce flaking and calm redness, so your scalp feels calmer wash after wash.

Saaren Taika Chamomile Shampoo Bar dermatological test results: -52% rash, -65% itching, -58% skin flaking

Why a psoriasis-prone scalp reacts so easily

Around 60 to 70 percent of people with psoriasis notice symptoms on the scalp. It can range from redness and light flaking to thicker scaling, often along the hairline, and it tends to get worse in winter. A psoriasis-prone scalp has a low tolerance for harsh, drying ingredients, so the wrong shampoo can leave your scalp tighter, itchier and flakier than before.

Sulfates like SLS and SLES are common culprits. Washing often with a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo instead helps soften flakes and calm the scalp, which is why the shampoo you choose matters so much for irritation-prone skin.

How Chamomile Shampoo Bar soothes your scalp

Saaren Taika Chamomile Shampoo Bar has a gentle, sulfate-free, silicone-free and paraben-free formula, developed to respect a sensitive scalp instead of stripping it. Its moisturising oils help soften and calm, so itching eases and flaking loosens. It cleanses effectively while keeping your scalp comfortable, and it is mild enough to use as a body cleanser too.

Dermatological test results

The Chamomile Shampoo Bar was dermatologically tested under the supervision of dermatologists on participants with a mild to moderate psoriasis-prone scalp. In the dermatologists' assessment, itching was significantly reduced for 65% of participants, flaking was significantly reduced for 58%, and scalp redness and irritation improved for 52%.

In an overall clinical scoring of scalp symptoms, 5% of participants saw their symptoms clear completely, 20% saw them almost entirely disappear, 55% showed clear improvement and 15% showed moderate improvement, with only 5% seeing no change.

Participants' own assessments were even stronger: 75% reported less scalp redness and irritation, 82% reported less itching and 95% reported less flaking. The shampoo was well tolerated on sensitive skin.

What customers say

"A lifesaver for psoriasis!"
"Since I started using this shampoo bar, I haven't needed a single pharmacy solution for my scalp. Flaking is under control, itching has reduced a lot, and even the patches behind my ears have calmed down. Fantastic product!"

Inkeri H.

"My psoriasis and flaking are finally under control."
"This shampoo has long been my savior. No flare-ups while using it, and I don't even need conditioner anymore. A true staple!"

Tanja H.

"Relief for my son's itchy scalp."
"My son had psoriasis patches that made him itch constantly. Sometimes we had to cut his hair very short just so his scalp could 'breathe'. After the first use of this shampoo, the itching already eased. Now his scalp is much calmer."

Minna R.

How to use it

Wet your hair and the bar, then massage the lather gently into your scalp. Leave it on for a moment so the moisturising oils can work, then rinse with lukewarm water. For a dry, flaky scalp, wash frequently rather than sparingly, as gentle regular washing helps keep flaking and itching under control. You can use the same bar as a gentle body cleanser.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Chamomile Shampoo Bar suitable for a sensitive, psoriasis-prone scalp?
Yes. It is dermatologically tested on a mild to moderate psoriasis-prone scalp and was well tolerated on sensitive skin. Its gentle, sulfate-free formula is developed for dry, irritated and easily reactive scalps.

How soon can I expect relief from itching and flaking?
Many customers notice a calmer scalp quickly. In the study, results were assessed after regular use, and self-reported reductions in itching and flaking were high.

Is it really sulfate-free?
Yes. It is free from SLS and SLES, silicones and parabens, which is important because harsh sulfates can worsen flaking and irritation on a psoriasis-prone scalp.

Is the Chamomile Shampoo Bar natural and vegan?
Yes. Saaren Taika Chamomile Shampoo Bar is 100% natural and vegan, developed for a dry, sensitive and irritation-prone scalp.

Can I use it on the rest of my body?
Yes. It is gentle enough to double as a body cleanser, which makes it handy if your skin is dry or easily irritated elsewhere too.
