Redness Relief Serum: Clinical Test Under Dermatological Supervision
Dela
Most products made for rosacea-prone skin promise a lot and deliver very little.
We had Saaren Taika's Redness Relief and Skin Barrier Serum tested in an independent clinical study under dermatological supervision, with measured results rather than subjective impressions.
In 42 days, redness reduced by 57%.
Here is the full study and its results.
Redness Relief Serum: Clinical Test Under Dermatological Supervision
The study was conducted at Eurofins research centre under dermatological supervision. 32 volunteers participated across two panels: 17 participants with vascular rosacea and 15 participants with acne rosacea with inflammatory lesions.
The serum was applied twice daily for 42 days, and results were compared to baseline measurements.
Results were evaluated using three complementary methods:
- Dermatologist visual scoring
- Instrumental measurements of redness and skin barrier function
- Participants' own self-assessment
Redness reduction was confirmed by both dermatologist assessment and instrumental measurement, so the result did not rely on a single method alone.
Redness Reduced by 57% in Dermatologist Assessment
In the dermatologist's assessment, redness reduced by 57.29% over 42 days. Skin tone improved by 33.80% during the test period.

Skin Barrier Strengthened and Dryness Eased
Rosacea-prone skin typically has a compromised skin barrier that allows irritants to penetrate too easily.
In the study, transepidermal water loss reduced by 21.99%. This means a stronger barrier: when moisture stays in your skin, irritants have a harder time getting through.
At the same time, dermatologist-assessed dryness improved significantly.
Discomfort Reduced Significantly
In participants' own self-assessments, the following reductions were reported:
- Stinging sensation reduced by 65.95%
- Burning sensation reduced by 69.75%
- Tightness sensation reduced by 75.68%
- Heating sensation reduced by 64.81%
Inflammatory Lesions Reduced in Acne Rosacea
In the acne rosacea panel, inflammatory lesions on the face counted by the dermatologist reduced by 27.29% during the test period.

Expression Lines Around the Eyes Softened
In the vascular rosacea panel, crow's feet expression lines were also measured. They softened over 42 days:
- Dermatologist assessment showed wrinkle appearance reduced by 32.16%
- Instrumental measurement showed wrinkle depth reduced by 23.36% and wrinkle surface area by 23.77%

What Makes the Saaren Taika Rosacea Range Different
Most products developed for rosacea-prone skin do what a standard cream typically does: they moisturise or soothe the skin's surface. This helps temporarily, but the redness returns, because rosacea-prone skin rarely flares for just one reason. Four biological mechanisms drive it simultaneously, and when you address only one, three others keep the cycle going.
The products in this range were formulated around multiple clinically studied active ingredients, each addressing a different root cause of redness. One calms your skin's nerve sensitivity. Another reduces capillary reactivity. A third supports the skin barrier. A fourth helps balance the skin microbiome.
Saaren Taika's exclusive bladderwrack actives Fucus DuoActive® and Fucus Fusion® strengthen the skin barrier and maintain moisture balance. They work together, which is precisely why this range does what most individual products cannot.
The neurocosmetics approach is the direction modern skincare is taking: working at the level of the connection between your skin and nervous system.
What also sets this range apart is how it was built. The products were not assembled on top of a ready-made base formula. They were developed from the ground up according to what couperose and rosacea-prone skin genuinely needs.
The efficacy of the serum has been proven in a clinical study under dermatological supervision using measurements, not just visual assessment alone. That is a slow and expensive way to make skincare, and precisely why very few brands do it.
